Juan Bautista Codina Bas donated two volumes of 'Anales de Xàbia/Jávea'

Renowned local researcher Juan Bautista Codina Bas has donated his two-volume work 'Anales de Xàbia' to the municipal archive, the result of thirty years of hard work documenting the history of the town from different Valencian and Spanish archives.

The volumes will provide an important resource for future researchers who want to understand the history of Xàbia and councillor Quico Moragues (Culture) expressed his gratitude for the donation and said that researchers like Juan Bautista Codina provide valuable information about the town thanks to their valuable efforts, their talent for research and their determination to work for the memory of all Xabieros. The books are now available for consultation in the Municipal Archive in Carrer d'Avall.

The new Municipal Archive building was opened in October last year and holds files and documentation which are available for consultation by municipal departments as well as residents who want to use them as reference. The collection includes historical documents, a selection of books written about Xàbia and archives for local, regional and national newspapers and magazines. The archive is open to the public between 11.00am and 1.00pm Monday to Friday.


Donación Archivo Municipal

El investigador Juan Bautista Codina Bas hace entra al Archivo Municipal de Xàbia de sus obras de investigación "Anales de Xàbia". Se trata de dos volúmenes que recogen más de treinta años de intenso trabajo de recopilación documental por diferentes archivos valencianos y españoles. Con esta donación Juan Bautista Codina aporta una importante fuente para futuros investigadores que quieran reconstruir la historia de Xàbia. El concejal de Cultura, Quico Moragues, ha agradecido la entrega de estos volúmenes y ha valorado muy positivamente "que personas como Juan Bautista Codina entreguen una parte importante de su tiempo, su talento y su constancia a trabajar por la memoria de todos los xabieros". Los volúmenes ya están disponibles en el archivo municipal.
