A brace from Lucas Bou secured
a first win for new boss Juan Carlos Signes and a first
victory for CD Jávea since the end of November.
It wasn't a particularly inspiring game for the 'rojiblancos'
but it was a fairly comfortable win, notching up
the first double of the season after an opening day
2-1 win in Ollería, and promising a much more determined
side for the second half of the campaign.
Jávea put themselves in control of the game within
four minutes of the start when the determined Palau
pushed down the left-hand side, skipped into the area
and slipped the ball beyond the advancing keeper to
Lucas Bou who smashed home from six yards to put the
'rojiblancos' into an early lead. A few minutes later
Lucas might have doubled the advantage after a superb
lobbed cross into the area from Adrián from the
right was claimed well by the keeper under pressure
from the tall striker.
CF were being kept quiet by a determined defensive line,
still the best in the group, and the game became a bruising
midfield battle which took casualties, not least the
right foot in Ferran and the bloodied knee of Michael.
On 36 minutes Palau finally beat the offside flag and
charged on goal with only the keeper to beat, but the
custodian did well to block as the Jávea player
tried to slide the ball underneath him. On 39 minutes
L'Olleria had their first real chance of the game when
Mompo pounced on a loose ball half cleared from a corner
and fired a low shot through a crowded area which rolled
just wide of the left post.
before the break Jávea should have increased
their lead after some more great work from Palau down
the left, skipping through the defence and then passing
to Adrián who chipped the ball into the box for
skipper Pau who simply needed to smash the ball
past the keeper into the goal beckoning behind but instead
chose to side-foot the ball into the chest of the custodian.
second half began with Jávea pressing from the
elusive second goal and it came after 58 minutes when
that man Palau pushed into the area and passed to Lucas
who slid the ball with ease past the keeper to make
it 2-0. A few minutes later Lucas might have had his
hat-trick when substitute Aldo crossed into the box
but the keeper claimed the ball under pressure from
the striker. Fellow substitute Roberto was also looking
lively down the left but he still has the habit of holding
on to the ball for far too long and the frustration
on the bench saw coach Juan Carlos ranting and raving,
determined to claim his first win with style.
second half became another bruising midfield battle
but the final few minutes saw the visitors pushing hard
for a consolation, the Javea defence working extremely
hard to force the opponents into speculative long-range
shots. They held well and as night fell the referee
brought the game to an end and CD Jávea claimed
