The Pueblo - Toscamar route will incorporate two new stops in Carretera Cabo de la Nao

javeamigos.com | JAVEA - NEW BUS ROUTE

The bus service between the old town and Toscamar is to be expanded to incorporate two new stops in the Carretera Cabo de la Nao (also known as Avenida del Pla) to offer a better service through the Arenal area of town. Councillor Tere Bisquert (Transportation) explained that a small loop will be included in the 'Pueblo-Toscamar' route to serve residents in the Javea Park, L'Arenal, Plaza and Urbatenis urbanisations amongst others.

The new route will see the bus make its usual stop at the Fontana Canal before turning right at the roundabout into Avenida de la Fontana to reach Carretara Cabo de la Nao where it will turn left to serve two new stops, the first in front of the Tourist Office and the second in front of the Mas y Mas Supermarket. At the Barclays roundabout, the bus will turn left into Camí Tamarits to return to the beach area to serve its original bus stops in front of the Mas y Mas Supermarket and along the Muntanyar II road to the XIC and Toscamar terminus.

The return route will see the bus serve the Mas y Mas in the beach area before turning left at the roundabout to travel along Camí Tamarits to the Barclays roundabout where there will be a bus stop next to the pharmacy and the site where the summer fair is normally located. The bus will travel along the Carretera Cabo de la Nao with a second stop outside the Humpty Dumpty shop before turning right at the roundabout and returning to the beach area at the Fontana Canal where it will continue its normal route to the old town.

The expansion of the route will be in operation from Monday 3rd March for a short period of evaluation but councillor Bisquert expects the new route to be accepted as an improvement to the municipal bus service in Jávea, opening up the service to the Arenal residents who don't live near the beach area.
