'Asociación de Restauradores de Xàbia
(ARX)' has presented details of its second 'Xàbia
al Plat Mariner' gastronomy event which aims to promote
local seafood cuisine. The event kicks off on Saturday
23rd November with an opportunity to sample prepared
seafood offered by a number of local restaurants inside
the fish market of the Port of Xàbia as well
as other activities such as a live auction in which
visitors can bid on lots of fresh fish and seafood,
an opportunity to explore one of the local fishing trawlers,
marine biology workshops and the II 'Cruet de Peix'
competition which was won by Restaurante Mezquida in
2012. The event will be followed by a campaign entitled
"Paseo Gastronómico por Xàbia"
which will run until Sunday 1st December in which participating
restaurants will offer a special menu to enjoy local

venue will be offering rice dishes, Valencian Fidueà
dishes and tapas with delicious offerings such as octopus,
cuttlefish, sardines and other seafood dishes for a
single price of 2 euros with drinks available at 1,50
euro for a small beer or glass of wine or 5 euros for
a long drink. Tickets will be sold at a central
point by the main entrance to the fish market much
like the other tapas events in Jávea.

President José Manuel Piña and councillor
Antonio Miragall (Tourism) highlighted the success of
the first 'Xàbia al Plat Mariner' event in
2012 and explained their desire to repeat it this
year, helping to promote local cuisine and show off
the wide variety of local produce in Jávea. They
encouraged everyone not only from the town but from
the region as a whole to visit the event on Saturday
23rd November and learn more about the local products
before enjoying some great menus offered by local restaurants
until the end of November. The president also wanted
to point out that 'Xàbia al Plat Mariner' event
is open to non-associated restaurants in the town.
