New outbreaks reported in Marina Alta in latest update from regional health

During 2021, there have been 41 outbreaks that have affected a total of 220 residents of the Marina Alta.

9.579 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed through PCR or antigen tests; by province, the distribution of these new cases is 766 in Castellón, 4,967 in Valencia, and 3,838 in Alicante. In total, 273,971 positive cases have been recorded in the Comunidad Valenciana. There are 65 unassigned cases.

Outbreaks

There have been a total of 70 new outbreaks of the disease across the Comunidad Valenciana; by province, the distribution is 6 in Castellón, 44 in Valencia, and 19 in Alicante, of which 11 were in the Marina Alta as follows:

  • Beniarbeig: 1 outbreak – 3 cases (education)
  • Calp: 1 outbreak – 5 cases (social)
  • Dénia: 3 outbreaks – 6 cases (social) / 6 cases (social) / 5 cases (social)
  • El Verger: 1 outbreak – 5 cases (social)
  • Pego: 2 outbreaks – 10 cases (social) / 5 cases (social)
  • Teulada: 2 outbreaks – 8 cases (social) / 6 cases (social)
  • Xàbia: 1 outbreak – 10 cases (social)

Active Cases

The data shows that the are currently 70,120 active cases of COVID-19 in the Comunidad Valenciana, with represents 24.56% of the total number of positives cases recorded.

Deaths

There have been 93 deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total for the Comunidad Valenciana to 4,320 people; by province, the distribution of the deaths is 517 Castellón, 2,262 Valencia, and 1,541 Alicante.

Hospitalization

There are 4,669 people in hospitals across the Comunidad Valenciana who are being treated for the COVID-19 infection; by province, the distribution is 461 Castellón with 52 patients in ICU, 2,389 Valencia with 338 in ICU, and 1,819 Alicante with 224 in ICU.

Recoveries

6,731 recoveries from COVID-19 have been registered; in total, 211,043 people in the Comunidad Valenciana have overcome the disease since the pandemic began.

Vaccination

107,907 doses of the vaccination have been administered throughout the Comunidad Valenciana, 105,256 Pfizer/BioNtech and 2,651 Modena. Up to now, 5,393 people has completed the vaccination programme.
