New outbreak recorded in Xàbia, of social origin, one of 8 detected in the Marina Alta

The Comunidad Valenciana registers 8,095 new cases of coronavirus and 7,978 discharges.

8,095 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed through PCR or antigen tests; by province, the distribution of these new cases is 631 in Castellón, 3,969 in Valencia, and 3,495 in Alicante. In total, 324,773 positive cases have been recorded in the Comunidad Valenciana. There are currently 62 unassigned cases.

Outbreaks

There have been a total of 72 new outbreaks of the disease across the Comunidad Valenciana; by province, the distribution is 10 in Castellón, 51 in Valencia, and 11 in Alicante, of which 8 were in the Marina Alta region as follows:

  • Benissa: 2 outbreaks (10 cases – education / 10 cases – social)
  • Dénia: 1 outbreak (4 cases – social)
  • Ondara: 1 outbreak (3 cases – education)
  • Pego: 2 outbreaks (8 cases – social / 5 cases – social)
  • Teulada: 1 outbreak (6 cases – social)
  • Xàbia: 1 outbreak (5 cases – social)

There have now been 60 outbreaks of the coronavirus in the Marina Alta in 2021.

The origins of the new outbreaks can be assigned 59% social, 23% education, 18% work.

Active Cases

The data shows that there are currently 70,431 active cases of COVID-19 in the Comunidad Valenciana, with represents 20.95% of the total number of positives cases recorded.

Deaths

There have been 106 deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total for the Comunidad Valenciana to 4,963 people; by province, the distribution of the deaths is 593 Castellón, 2,565 Valencia, and 1,805 Alicante.

Hospitalization

There are 4,422 people currently in hospitals across the Comunidad Valenciana who are being treated for the COVID-19 infection; by province, the distribution is 436 Castellón with 59 patients in ICU, 2,268 Valencia with 340 in ICU, and 1,718 Alicante with 242 in ICU.

Recoveries

7,978 recoveries from COVID-19 have been registered; in total, 260,867 people in the Comunidad Valenciana have overcome the disease since the pandemic began.

Vaccination

149,740 doses of the vaccination have been administered throughout the Comunidad Valenciana, 147,034 Pfizer/BioNtech and 2,706 Modena. Up to now, 46,143 people has completed the vaccination programme in our region.
