MARINA ALTA FOOTBALL ROUND-UP | 3/5 May 2025
CD Jávea returned to winning ways with a 1-0 home win over CD El Campello whilst CD Dénia’s relegation from the Lliga Comunitat is confirmed.

Lliga À Punt Comunitat – Grup Sud

UE Tavernes and Hércules CF ‘B’ moved to joint top of the table with just one game to go in the regular season after Novelda UD CF’s six-week spell in the automatic promotion spot came to an end after their 1-2 defeat in Alicante, the third defeat in four games. Just three points separates the top five whist Olímpic de Xàtiva have an outside chance of a play-off spot if they beat UE Tavernes.
At the bottom, CD Dénia’s 3-4 home defeat to UD Carcaixent, their seventh straight loss, confirms their relegation to the Primera FFCV, the club’s first experience of second-tier regional football for 65 years as the club’s malaise continues.
Primera FFCV – Grupo 4

CD Jávea got back to winning ways on their return to home soil, a first-half goal from Lucas Escudero settling the nerves and the rojiblancos’ command of the game promised more goals but they had to endure a tough second half to secure all three points and the one-point lead at the top of the table. Santa Pola CF recorded their fourth straight victory to maintain the pressure whilst Mutxamel CF won at Villajoyosa CF to keep hold of the shirt tails.
Santa Pola host Villena CF next weekend, both sides claiming the best current six-game forms so a draw would be a perfect result for Jávea, whilst Mutxamel host relegation haunted Benferri CF, themselves collecting points in recent weeks in a bid to escape the bottom three. The chasing pack – Betis Florida, CD Almoradí and Jávea next opponent CD Murada – also maintain the pressure on the top three.
At the other end, both CF Intercity ‘B’ and CF Sporting de Fulgencio are relegated, the latter having gone an incredible eleven games without scoring. The fight to avoid to drop is likely to last until the very final game of the season with a whole host of clubs fighting for survival.

Segona FFCV – Grupo 6

CF Simat retain their two-point lead at the top of the table after a 4-0 home win over UD Alginet whilst FB Teulada-Moraira maintain the chase, thanks to a 2-1 home win over relegation CD Dénia ‘B’. CF Cullera move into third place, their highest position of the season, thanks to a 3-2 win at UE Benifaió but the top two positions are almost certainly claimed and it’s now a case of who will take the automatic spot and who will have to settle for the lottery of the play-offs.
At the bottom CD Dénia ‘B’ are already relegated; UD Alginet’s defeat to Simat, their fourth loss in a row, certainly condemns them to join the Dianense club, although they could still mathematically avoid the drop. Likewise, Almussafes CF’s defeat at home to Safor CF Gandia means that they are now seven points adrift of safety with three games to play.
Tercera FFCV – Grupo 12

NOTE: The missing result was Pego CF B 2-3 CF Benitatxell.

NOTE: CF Benitatxell have 70 points.
CF Benitatxell’S 3-2 win in Pego was the club’s 30th straight game without a defeat and it confirmed the championship, the club presented with the trophy over the weekend. CEF El Verger smashed six past Beniarbeig and look certain to claim the play-off spot with three games to go, although CD El Campello ‘B’ are just four points behind after their 3-1 win over UD Calpe ‘B’.
