The local police force was kept busy on New Year’s Eve, dealing with 30 people who had decided not to comply with health protocols put in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Officers had to break up two illegal parties in private households. One was attended by 12 young people, exceeding the maximum number of six who can gather together at the moment, whilst fines were also handed out for not wearing face masks and for having violated a ban on entering the Comunidad Valenciana.

In a second home, 10 young people were also attending an illegal party, also exceeding the maximum number of people allowed to gather, and fines were dished out for not wearing face masks.

A total of eight people were also fined for breaking the night curfew order and being on the public highway well after midnight.

With regard to the hospitality industry, the police also carried out checks on bars and restaurants and found that the opening schedules and capacities were mostly complied with.
