Young cyclist Juan Ayuso, from Xàbia, has claimed in an interview for the YouTube channel of ex-cyclist, Juan Antonio Flecha, that in two or three years time, it will be his time to participate in the blue ribbon event of the annual professional cycling calendar, the Tour de France.

Ayuso participated in a training camp of the UAE Team in Andorra, the small Pyrenean country between Spain and France through which the French event passes through.

The training coincided with the team’s rest day, when Tadej Pogačar had not yet been proclaimed as winner, but he had already set some distance in front of his rivals (Pogačar has been proclaimed champion of the test weekend). In Andorra, Ayuso trained to improve his physical form in the different and varied mountain passes that dot the neighbouring country.

The xabiero spoke with Juan Antonio Flecha and gave a good example of his sports capabilities as well as some chats before the microphones that have surprised everyone in Spain.

When asked by Flecha, Ayuso admitted that he is hopeful that he will one day compete in the gala race and humbly admits that he still has two or three years left.

After winning the Giro d’Italia U-23 event, the xabiero returned to Team UAE, with whom he debuted in the Appenine Tour, and he is already competing in the World Tour category, in which he will be participating in one of the most appreciated tests by Spanish cyclists, the classic of San Sebastián, on July 31st, a 223 kilometre tour of the Basque province.

Ayuso has already demonstrated his confidence before the cameras when, at the beginning of the gala round, he appeared on the Teledeporte channel with Perico Delgado, who mentioned the young cyclist in his personal twitter.
