The Gandia woman who collided with six cyclists from Xàbia in May 2017 has accepted a sentence of three years and nine months in prison, charged with three counts of homicide with serious recklessness, three counts of injury, and one count of reckless driving.

The trial scheduled for next week at Criminal Court 1 in Gandia has now been annulled after the two sides accepted the agreement, which the driver has insistently sought after initially rejecting it in the report held in November, and the woman will also see her driving licence permanently withdrawn. According to some legal sources, she will probably serve about six months after spending time in prison during the pre-trial period.

The two sides have been summoned to sign the agreement next Monday in Gandia, an act that will mean that the three surviving cyclists of the terrible accident will avoid having to attend court and recalling those hard moments and the suffering that they endured and continue to endure to this day.
