Council cancels events as infection cases rise

Due to the accelerating spread of the COVID-19 infection in Xàbia, the Council has decided to postpone several cultural and leisure activities that had been planned for the next few days as well as close all municipal sports facilities and reduce the hours of the municipal indoor market.

The ARS NOVA concert scheduled for the evening of Saturday 19th December in the church of San Bartolomé has been cancelled.

The “Play Music” activities organised by PlayJove scheduled for today in the Riurau d’Arnauda and the FIFA tournament which was to be hosted in the PlayJove centre have also been cancelled. The rest of the activities which have been organised as part of the Nadal Jove programme will be decided based on the evolution of the data.

Also cancelled, Nadal Esportiu, the Christmas Workshops at the Civic Punt in the Arenal, and any training sessions scheduled by sports clubs as well as any sporting competition.

In addition, all municipal sports facilities will be closed between Saturday 19th December and Sunday 27th December.

Finally, the opening hours of the municipal indoor market will be reduced to 8.00am to 9.00pm Monday to Friday, and 8.00am to 3.00pm on Saturday.
