This week, the Comunidad Valenciana plans to administer 406,575 doses of the various vaccines which are currently endorsed by the European Union. The regional health ministry has reported that a total of 283,203 Pfizer, 42,692 Moderna, 43,516 AstraZeneca, and 37,164 Janssen, a single dose vaccine, will be administered to citizens in the region.
In the case of Pfizer, most of the vaccines (253,000) will be administered to people born between 1962 and 1981 whilst the rest will be distributed among 15 other age groups and, in some cases, specific professions. 13,000 doses will also be dedicated to groups of people over 66 years of age.
With Moderna, 41,000 vaccines will be allocated to people between 40 and 59 years of age (those born between 1962 and 1981 inclusive) whilst the single dose Janssen will also be administered to those between 40 and 59 years of age. With respect to AstraZeneca, the majority of the doses will be given to people under the age of 60.
With the latest batch of vaccines, it is expected that the Comunidad Valenciana will have administered more than 3 million doses by the end of the week, of which more than one million people will have completed their respective and be fully immunized against coronavirus.
