Monday 10th May 2021 – PRESS RELEASE with Mike Smith

The choral group ARS NOVA has created a new teaching project called PETIT ARS. With the support of Xàbia Council and directed by renowned soprano Teresa Albero, the project has not only been conceived as a children’s choir, but also as a space for development of the little ones through the voice.

The main objective of the PETIT ARS project is transmit all those values that are involved in singing in a choir to the children, qualities such as solidarity, effort and commitment, without forgetting imagination and musical creativity.

The project is open to children aged between 4 and 13 who will be grouped according to their ages and will join different sessions on Saturday mornings, with an option to extend to Friday afternoons. Prior musical knowledge is not required.

PETIT ARS will offer a vocal and musical learning course for the little ones through innovative and playful didactics, providing a source of growth for both boys and girls as well as teachers, some of whom will be in training for a career in teaching choral techniques to children. It is a unique and special opportunity for not just Xàbia but also the whole of the region of the Marina Alta.

The pre-registration period for the 2021-2022 academic year is open until May 14th and interested parties can register by sending an email to petitars.xabia@gmail.com, including the name and year of birth of the child as well as the necessary contact details.
