This evening Wednesday at 8.00pm, CD Jávea will be hosting CF Gandía in the re-arranged Round 8 clash that was postponed back in December due to COVID-19 complications.

It promises to be an interesting game in which head coach Diego Miñana’s team will be trying to halt a run of two successive draws since football resumed this month after the enforced break due to the pandemic.

Jávea trained on Tuesday to prepare for the match as well as the Saturday local derby against CD Pedreguer and they will be keen to get their first victory since competition resumed under their belt. The last two games, both 2-2 draws against Universitat d’Alacant and UE Tavernes, have seen the side struggle at the back after going ahead in both games.

CF Gandía, who sit just above the relegation zone, arrive in Xàbia with a team that has little to do with the one that started the season back in October. Head coach Lauro Techeira arrived at the club at the end of November, just before the suspension of the football, and has released several players such as Mallol, Jordán Mina and Carrascosa, and two players have been brought in, defenders Ramiro Ferreira and Pablo Coronado.

Miñana will be facing a team which he has both played for and coached, but will be looking for three points as much as any game and start climbing towards the top of the table.

The game will be played behind closed doors but fans can follow the game live on the CD Jávea YouTube channel.
