Despite having already started the 2022 season, this Friday 29th April will be the long-awaited debut in Xàbia of the young new director of the ARS NOVA choral group, Rubén Penadés. The premiere of this team was on April 3rd in Xaló, a concert within its fiesta programme, in which a repertoire from Catalonia was performed, a total success that managed to put the entire Santa Maria Church on its feet, united in enthusiastic applause.

This is a new stage that begins with enthusiasm and desire to undertake new projects. For this reason, it will be this occasion, and following the thread of the previous concert, in which they face the challenge of offering their audience Lenguas Viva, a concert in which they present a written repertoire in the co-official languages of the Spanish state.

With this, it is sought to vindicate the total suitability of these pieces in concert programs, given that they are often discriminated against, perhaps to be considered languages dedicated to the popular repertoire, unfair reasoning because there have been, and continue to be, many great composers who write works in their mother tongue. The audience will be able to listen, among others, to works from Fernando Remacha, Manuel Groba and Amando Blanquer.

ARS NOVA invites you to the fortress-church of San Bartolomé in the heart of the historic centre this Friday 29th April at 8.30pm, where the group hopes that the people of Xàbia will extend a warm welcome to the master Penadés.

In addition, it should be noted that ARS NOVA will also participate this year in the mass in honour of Jesús Nazareno that will be held on Tuesday 3rd May in the same church, another occasion to enjoy their voices and an exquisite repertoire.
