AMATA Craft Fair returns to Jávea Port

The popular craft fair will be taking place each Sunday on the port promenade.

Monday 7th February 2022 – PRESS RELEASE with Mike Smith

After a two years’ absence due to the pandemic, the artisans of AMATA will be returning to the port area of Jávea. From February 13th onwards you can find them again every Sunday morning at the promenade in front of La Grava beach.

AMATA, the regional craft association that organises this small but select craft fair, guarantees that everything is hand-made by the participants themselves – nothing imported, nothing factory-made, everything carefully and lovingly made by people who have chosen this way of life. And it shows!

Every Sunday morning, starting at 11.00am and finishing at 2.00pm or even later, there will be people with soft and wooden toys, water colours, ceramics, some very original jewelry made from recycled beer tins or sea shells. You won’t know exactly what is there on any given Sunday morning, since every week there may be different stalls, but there are always the odd dozen stalls (as long as the weather is OK, because craft people can’t risk that wind or rain damaging their work).

For more information, ring Elvira on 639 979 678 (she speaks English). Last minute changes and other news items about this fair will be published on their FB page here.

For many years, you’ve told us how much you love what we’re doing and some of you have even asked for ways to say thanks. For us, there really is nothing easier to show someone how much you appreciate their efforts than buying them a beer (or a wine; or even a coffee) – it’s so simple.
