Almost there! Final rail stretch from Gata to Dénia undergoes evaluation tests

Preparations made to open the final stretch of Linea 9 by the beginning of next year.

During this week, evaluation tests will be carried on the rail link between Gata de Gorgos and Dénia as preparations are made for this final stretch of the FGV tranvía route to be opened by the beginning of next year.

For the first time for over six years, the barriers of the level crossings at La Xara and Carrer Metge Manuel Vallalta and Avenida Joan Fuster in Dénia will be lowered. Such is the novelty of this act, personnel from FGV and officers from the local police will be stationed at each crossing to guarantee safety to the public.

The tests will be carried out between 10.00am and 5.00pm during the nights of November 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and they will consist to different passes of the trains between Gata and Dénia. If all goes well, then Line 9 should be fully re-opened after six years, although the FGV is still not able to give a specific date, only that it will between the end of the year and the beginning of 2023.
