The fiestas that honour the town’s treasured image of the Jesús Nazareno are the most religious celebrations of the year in Xàbia. For more than 250 years the image has played a central part in the spiritual side of life in the town.
WEDNESDAY 23rd APRIL 2025
17:00 Blood Donation (Centre de Salud de Xàbia) until 20:30. The fiesta booklet will be given to all those who donate. NOTE: Those who lived in the UK for more than 12 months during the period 1980-1996 cannot donate blood due to the presence of vCJD at that time.
THURSDAY 24th APRIL 2025
17:00 Placing of the cages and barriers in the Placeta del Convent and Ronda Colón until 21:00. The Brotherhood requests the collaboration of all the owners of the cages to provide two responsible people during the installation.
FRIDAY 25th APRIL 2025
10:00 Technical safety revision of the cages.
18:45 Entrance of bulls and heifers in Calle Dr. Borrull (Ganadería La Paloma).
19:00 Release of cows and a bull in Placeta del Convent and Ronda Colón (Ganadería Calí).
19:30 Presentation of XXIII Festival Xàbia Folk 2025 with a performance of Ataxía in the Casa de la Cultura in Plaça del Baix. Free entry.

SUNDAY 27th APRIL 2025 – DÍA DEL NIÑO (Children’s Day)
10:00 Bocadillos and snacks for all the children in the Plaza de la Constitución, followed by the opening of the children’s playground and horse and cart rides organised by CAE El Tirasset. There will be a bar service available. In addition, a raffle will be held to win one of the wooden sculptures that will be carved by local artists Miguel Ángel Miguel during the morning.

13:30 Giant Paella amongst the trees of the Parque Montaner. There will be a bar service.

22:30 Sainete (Valencian Farce): “La Caiguda del Balcó” performed by the Grup de Teatre Tot Rist de la Comissió de Festes Mare de Déu de Loreto in the marquee in the Plaza de la Constitución.
THURSDAY 1st MAY 2025 – The Flower Crosses
09:00 Tronà · an explosive start to the day.
12:00 Parade through the streets of Duanes de la Mar by the Colla Portitxol to visit the flower crosses that have been created in the port zone. Afterwards, there will be snacks offered on the courtyard of the church of Nuestra Señora de Loreto.
19:00 Triduum to Jesús Nazareno in the parish church of San Bartolomé in suffrage for José Gual Buigues.
20:00 Parade led by dulzaina and drum through the streets of the historic centre with the Cofradía de Jesús Nazareno and the municipal authorities to visit the flower crosses created by the Mayorales 2025, groups and associations, where they will be serenaded by La Tuna de Xàbia. The parade will start in the Plaza de la Iglésia.
FRIDAY 2nd MAY 2025 – The Flower Offering
11:00 Visit to the senior citizens in the Day Centre Santa María de Betania where they will be presented with a little gift.
11:30 Visit to the senior citizens in the Asilo Hermanos Cholbi where they will be presented with a little gift.
12:00 Ringing of the Church Bells.
19:00 Triduum to Jesús Nazareno in the parish church of San Bartolomé in suffrage for Rvdo. D. Juan Esteve Domingo, Rvdo. D. José Soler Mulet, Rvdo. D. Juan Celda Visitación, Rvdo. D. Joaquín Sendra Benavent.
20:10 Flower Offering to Jesús Nazareno. All the children, fiesta commissions, peñas, associations, etc. as well as all the residents in general, are invited to take part. The parade will begin in Plaza de la Marina Alta (Correos) and will pass through the streets of the historic centre to the parish church of San Bartolomé.
SATURDAY 3rd MAY 2025 – La Subida a Jesús Nazareno (The Ascent of the Image)
07:30 Ringing of the Church Bells.
09:00 Tronà · an explosive start to the day.
12:00 Solemn Eucharist with the participation of the Parish Choir of Nuestra Señora de Loreto. Afterwards, diplomas will be awarded to the Mayorales 2025 and then there will be the traditional mascletà in the Plaza de la Constitución.
19:00 Evening Mass dedicated to the sick and disabled. Afterwards, there will be the solemn procession – La Subida – with the image of Jesús Nazareno from the parish church of San Bartolomé to the blue-domed chapel of Calvario. Once this image has been safely returned to its chapel, the Brotherhood and municipal authorities as well as those who accompanied the image will make their way down to the Plaza de la Constitución for the grand firework display which will bring the main celebrations to an end.

19:00 Mass in suffrage for those members of the Brotherhood who have passed to which all the faithful are invited. The parish church of San Bartolomé.
SATURDAY 10th MAY 2025
19:00 Thanksgiving Mass in the blue-domed chapel of Calvario. Farewell to this year’s Mayorales and presentation of medals to those who will be presenting the festivities in 2026.
