Club Náutico de Jávea has brought the latest edition of its Interschool League to a close, an annual event which, in collaboration with the Department of Sports in Xàbia, aims to promote the sport of sailing at the club.

Many of those who enjoyed the sailing on the wonderful bay of Xàbia will continue in the club’s summer school.

All participants received a medal as well as a logbook from the Fundación ECOMAR, a tool for the training of children in the different environmental education initiatives, providing advice on how to discover, enjoy and respect the sea through sport and a healthy lifestyle.

The closing event was attended by mayor José Chulvi and the vice-president of the Club Náutico de Jávea, Roberto Simó, as well as the club’s sporting director Javier Momparler and the monitoring team from the Sailing School which is responsible for the education of schoolchildren.

Roberto Simó thanked the mayor for his presence and highlighted that this year the Interschool League has been held with all the necessary health and safety measures and stressing that “it is a way to strengthen ties with Xàbia“.

The mayor himself said that it is through the activities that the little ones learn not only how to sail but also how to respect the marine environment.
