Almost two weeks after the requirement for the showing of a “COVID Passport” at certain establishments, hundreds of people continue to turn out to receive the jab.

Last Sunday the health centre in Xàbia opened its doors to host an extraordinary day of vaccination against COVID-19, the first town in the Marina Alta to offer jabs outside of the regional hospital in Dénia.

Councillor Rita Berruti (Health) posted the figure on her Facebook profile on Sunday evening after the local health centre offered jabs with appointment to residents over the age of 12 who had not yet had any vaccine jab, those who received the single-dose Janssen jab, and the third booster jabs for those over the age of 65.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the regional hospital in Dénia administered 857 vaccine doses without appointment.

The great response to the offer of jabs without an appointment is a clear response to the imposition of the measure of the “COVID Passport” by the Generalitat Valenciana which requires people to show proof of vaccination, a recent negative test or recovery from the disease before entry to establishments of a certain capacity.
