40 SAILORS PARTICIPATE IN CONTROLLED TEST IN XÀBIA

The racing was held to prepare the youngsters for competition when it resumes this coming weekend.

A total of 40 young sailors of the Optimist B class participated last weekend in a controlled test race in Xàbia in order to prepare for future competition, an event organized by the sailing clubs of Jávea, Dénia, Valencia and Oliva.

Due to the ongoing health crisis, the Optimist B class has not yet resumed the official races in 2020, therefore the four clubs considered that it would be positive for the sailors to organize a controlled test race in order to prepare them for when the calendar eventually resumes.

The first official appointment will be this coming weekend, a heat of the regional championships that will be held at the Dehesa de Campoamor Nautical Club in Orihuela.

In the controlled test race weekend, the best sailor was Vivi Alonso from the Club Náutico de Jávea, second was Marta Ferrando from the Real Club Náutico de Valencia and third was Liam Woods, also from the Club Náutico de Jávea.
