CD JAVEA picked up their first points of the season with a narrow victory over newly-promoted FC Jove Español San Vicente 'B'. A goal from striker Onieva, his second in two games, was complemented by a penalty from David Ivars after the midfielder was dragged down inside the area by a desperate defender. Yet a penalty save by Jorge proved to be decisive when the confident custodian guessed the right way for the second time this year; the hosts pulled back a consolation through Toni fifteen minutes from time but Jorge's block would clinch maximum points for the rojiblancos.

Javea started the game in 4-2-3-1 formation with Onieva prowling alone up front. The Benidorm striker was already off the mark with his strike against UD Horadada and didn't take long to double his tally for the season when he pounced on a poor headed back pass to fire home from a tight angle, fast becoming his speciality.

The hosts, playing their first season at Preferente after winning promotion from the Regional Primera, had a golden chance to pull level when they were awarded a penalty but goalkeeper Jorge, who saved an important spot kick at Carcaixent last season, guessed the right way and blocked the penalty to keep the rojiblancos in the lead at the break.

Irigoyen and Vicente, the latter making his debut for the club, replaced the injured Gerardo and Brad respectively at the break and Javea changed to a 4-4-2 formation. Javea took the play to their hosts, keen to maintain their advantage, and Jove Español conceded a penalty themselves when David Ivars was dragged back as he exploded into the area; the midfielder himself confidentally slotted home from the spot to double the advantage for the rojiblancos.

Jove Español pulled a goal back fifteen minutes from time through Toni but neither side could create any further real chances and Javea claimed their first points of the season. to move into 8th spot in the table. Next weekend they host struggling club Albatera CF, who have lost their opening two games of the season, and the rojiblancos will be keen to continue their good performances.
