CD Javea
President Mark Catlin gives his frank views on the
week's events at the football club.
Unfortunately, due to business commitments, I was in the UK
this weekend and so could not witness, what was by all accounts, a tremendous
performance by the lads. I know that we played the bottom club, but Jose Luis
had text me his list of injuries just before the game, and my natural
confidence slightly evaporated when told that we had 4 youth team players in
involved in the match!
I am sure that the players, and everyone associated with the
club, would like to join with me and congratulate Jose Luis on his first
victory as manager. It has no real bearing on the ‘bigger picture’, but as a
side issue I know it is always important for a new manager to get that first
victory under his belt. Looking at the ‘bigger picture’ special praise also has
to go out to all the players for the way in which they have reacted following
Kenny’s departure. A huge amount of hard work has gone on behind the scenes to
ensure that his departure was as seamless as possible, and after just 3 games
it seems that the club is back on track, with a vengeance!
It’s nice to also see that we are the league’s top goalscorers,
it has no real relevance, but it’s a nice touch for the supporters!
Now, as always in football, you cannot dwell too long on the
immediate past and have to think about the immediate future, this weekend has
gone and thoughts are already turning to our coming game. A victory here should
see us once again knocking on the door of the play-off spot’s!
