Tuesday 31st July 2018

JAVEA NEWS | Charity Shop

Members of the Javea Autism Association recently visited The Original Charity Shop and were delighted to be presented with a cheque for €500. The money will be used for essentials for their summer school. The Javea Autism Association was founded in 2015. The project aims to improve the quality of life of people with autism and their families and prepare them for future integration into society by helping them develop their capabilities and skills. President Olga Sales explained that there are 30 families in Javea with one or even two children with autism.

Several members of The Original Charity Shop and Library joined by some friends took on the The Mirador Challenge, 29km of strenuous walking, to raise money for two local charities and through sponsorship and generous donations from the shop we were able to donate €1240 euros both Raquel Paya Special School in Denia and the Javea Department of Equality.
