sixth edition of the Montgorock Xàbia music festival
takes place over the weekend of May 11th and May 12th
and with just less than a month to go the organisers
have confirmed that some 90% of the tickets have been
sold. More than two dozen acts have been confirmed with
Spanish supergroup 'Gran Cañon' headlining with
the first appearance at Montgorock bringing classic
American rock to Xàbia.
of the line-up includes Madrid band 'Tequila' who
will be celebrating 40 years since releasing their first
album with a farewell tour and this will be the only
show they will be performing in the Comunidad Valenciana.
La Raíz from Gandía are no strangers
to Xàbia having played here several times offering
a fusion of rock, hip-hop, reggae and ska. Award-winning
band 'Sidecars' will be presenting tracks from their
new album "Cuestión de Gravedad" whilst
'La M.O.D.A.' (their name is an acronym of 'Maravillosa
Orquesta De Alcohol') from Burgos will also be showcasing
new songs from their album "Salvavida (de las balas
perdidas)". Other acts include 'Rulo y la Contrabanda',
'Vinila Von Bismark', 'Sexy Zebras', 'Guadalupe Plata'
and 'Santero y los Muchachos' and many more.
the previous two editions, the two-day musical extravaganza
will be located on 20,000 square metres of open
land next to the Canal de la Fontana where an arena
will be constructed on artificial grass and will
include two huge stages, food and drinks outlets,
toilet facilities, a VIP area, shops and gaming areas
plus a small camping zone with full facilities. The
event is fast becoming one of the most popular in the
region in recent years with music fans travelling from
all over Spain to enjoy two days of fantastic music.
But on the morning of Saturday 12th there will be free
concert on the beach with 'Nixon', 'Deliri' and 'Lost
River Bastards' performing their music right next the
priced from 25 euros for single day pass or 45 euros
for a full pass for both days up to 115 euros for the
VIP area for both days (camping extra) can be purchased
or at any of the Tourist Information Offices in Xàbia.
