LA MAR DE TAPAS RETURNS FOR PILAR PUENTE WEEKEND
Twenty local venues will offer tapas and drinks throughout the long weekend festival

The port zone of Xàbia will come alive over the Pilar Puente long festive weekend with the sixth edition of 'La Mar de Tapas', a popular annual event which showcases the best of seafood cuisine in town. Open on Friday 13th October and continuing through the weekend to Sunday 15th October, the tapas festival will see some 20 venues offering the very best tapas from the sea whilst also offering plenty of entertainment including live music in the street, the weekly craft fair and special workshops for the little ones.

Councillor Cesc Camprubi (Economic Development) highlighted the excellent development of this popular gastronomic event which gives priority to seafood and allows the visitor to enjoy the maritime nature of Duanes, the port area of Xàbia.

Cande Ros, president of the Port de Xàbia business association, explained that they have made sure that all the participants offer the best quality tapas with an attractive presentation and at good prices. Visitors to the tapas festival can buy special tickets at special sales points to exchange for both tapas and drinks, priced at 1,80 euros for food and 1,50 euros for drinks.

Mayor José Chulvi, in his capacity at head of the Department of Tourism congratulated the Port de Xàbia business association for not just maintaining this popular event but also enhancing something which is different from other fairs as it has developed as a tapas route which allows the visitor to get to know new places and the Duanes neighbourhood. He added that there is a positive value to such a gastronomic event as it helps promote thr fishing industry which is a major economic sector in Xàbia.

The sixth edition of La Mar de Tapas kicks off on Friday 13th October with an afternoon session from 12.30pm until 3.00pm and an evening session from 7.00pm until 11.00pm. Saturday 14th October will have the same two sessions a the same time whilst Sunday 15th October will just have the afternoon session. There will be tapas including octopus sardine, tuna, cuttlefish, anchovies as well as drinks and cocktails.

Note: All participating establishments will indicate which of their tapas are included in the festival. Some establishments may serve tapas only on the terrace or at the bar. Tickets for tapas and drink will be sold at the sales points by the organisation. Some establishments may have different opening and closing times.

Tapas con esencia marinera en Xàbia para el puente del Pilar
20 locales hosteleros de Duanes ofrecen una nueva edición de la ruta gastronómica “la mar de tapas”

La hostelería de Duanes de la Mar ofrecerá este puente del Pilar (del 13 al 15 de octubre) un evento que se ha revelado como el mejor escaparate de la cocina con esencia marinera de Xàbia. Se trata de la VI edición de la ruta gastronómica “La mar de tapas”, una acción en la que participan un total de 20 locales entre bares y restaurantes y que estará acompañada por actividades de animación como música en directo por las calles, un mercado de artesanía de autor y talleres para los más pequeños.

El concejal de Fomento Económico, Cesc Camprubi, ha destacado la buena trayectoria que tiene este evento gastronómico que da todo el protagonismo al pescado y permite al visitante captar el carácter marinero de Duanes.

La presidenta de la asociación de comerciantes Port de Xàbia, Cande Ros, ha incidido en que todos los participantes ofrecen tapas de buena calidad y con una presentación atractiva, por lo que ha invitado a todos los xabieros y visitantes a que se pasen por el puerto a disfrutar de la buena gastronomía a precios populares (los tiquets para las tapas tienen un precio de 1’80 euros y los de las bebidas de 1’50).

Por último, el alcalde y responsable de Turismo, José Chulvi, ha felicitado a la asociación por mantener y potenciar esta actividad diferente a otras ferias, que al estar planteada como una ruta favorece que se conozcan nuevos locales y el propio barrio de Duanes.  Chulvi asimismo ha valorado positivamente que esta acción gastronómica de todo el protagonismo al producto pesquero, un sector económico muy arraigado en Xàbia.

La Mar de Tapas empezará el viernes 13 de octubre, en horario de 12’30 a 15 horas y de 19 a 23 horas. El sábado mantendrá el mismo horario y el domingo solo tendrá sesión de mediodía. Habrá para elegir bocados muy apetitosos con el pulpo, sardina, atún, sepia, anchoas o boquerones, así como bebidas y coctails para acompañar.

Los participantes son: Ca María, Calima, La Trattoria, Piri Piri, La Bodeguilla, Noray, Varadero, la Esquina, Clavo, Nápoli, Cande, L’Almadrava, Pòsit, Andares Ibéricos, Ca Tomaca, Nodo Gastrobar, Sotavent, Marítimo Picnic i Pizzeria Café D’Art.
