The municipal
water company AMJASA has a new board of directors after
its composition was approved in a council meeting with
votes in favour from PSPV Compromis, PP and non-affiliated
council members Juan Ortolá and Tere Bisquert
whilst Juan Luis Cardona and Oscar Antón, both
also non-affiliated, chose to abstain.
The
new board of directors consists of mayor José
Chulvi, councillors Paco Torres (Waters) and Doris Courcelles
(Environment) and elected party representatives: María
Teresa Bou, Lynn Cobb, Lurdes Ros and Francisco
Javier Bonet (PSPV), Rosa María Pérez
Ortuño (PP) and Francesc Catalá (Compromís).
Also
confirmed were the councillors who will act as auditors
as the general meetings of the board who will be Antonio
Miragall (PSPV) and Tere Ern (PP) with Marta Bañuls
(PSPV) and Juan Ortolá (non-affiliated) as substitutes.
The
mayor welcomed the new directors whilst thanking the
hard work of those who would be standing down from the
board, a team which had been led by CEO Josep Lluis
Henarejos which has managed to turn around the public
company despite meeting great economic, social and labour
problems. He stressed that AMJASA is currently the only
public company in the Comunidad Valenciana which is
responsible for the supply of water and for carrying
out constant improvements in its management and its
technology.
This
work was reflected in the statement of social responsibility
for 2014 which was presented to the council meeting
and reviewed works, investment and partnerships with
cultural and education institutions, sports sponsorships
and the support of NGOs amongst others.
