MAYOR TO BECOME PART OF NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND
HOUSING COMMISSION Thursday 19th

Mayor José Chulvi has been appointed a member of the
Development and Housing Committee of the 'Federación
de Municipios y Provincias' (FEMP) which is to be established
on Monday at its headquarters in Madrid. Sr. Chulvi
is to act as the representative of the local corporation
and will be one of two delegates from Valencia on a
committee that will consist of some 25 members draw
from different regions across Spain. Its main purpose
will be to foster integrated, cohesive and sustainable
development to provide active policies for housing.
Its
remit is to promote collaboration for the implementation
for urban and regional planning in line with the European
Union's Sustainable Development Strategy, paying particular
attentionto policies for the rehabilation of consolidated
areas, promoted improved quality of housing stock and
encouraging new constructions that contribute to improvements
in energy efficiency.
For
Sr. Chulvi, being part of this commission is a great
opportunity to keep abreast of urban development policies
and to learn first-hand of all the new strategies focused
on sustainability and good practices that would benefit
Jávea and make it a more comfortable place.
In
addition, Chulvi said that FEMP is an institution that
is "very important for municipalities" which
promotes agreements, grants and campaigns, information
for which Jávea will become much better informed.
