CF Mediterraneo de Xàbia was
founded in 2006 by a group of South American football fans with the main aim
being to help the social and cultural integration of all members. Initially all
the players and directors were South American but other time the club became a
multi-cultural team with players from various nationalities. In 2009, after a
serious internal crisis within the club, several members of the local community
of Jávea decided to continue with the project which began only three years
earlier but with the aim to maintain the initial aims of the club and today the
first team boasts players from five different countries.
After much work and effort by
the players, coaches, officials and sponsors, the club won the much coveted
promotion to the Primera Regional in
2010/11 and the club aims to continue the good work at the new level. They feel
that they have created a very competitive group of players which has given
plenty of joy to everyone involved.
