It is the mission of Quiropráctica Montgó to help as many people as possible to improve their quality of life through chiropractic care. Let us help you to better your health and to live the life you were meant to live.

Mike Wilkerson has been involved with natural healthcare and nutrition since the 1980’s when he studied Rolfing (a form of deep tissue massage) and Applied Kinesiology. Mike later became interested in chiropractic when he experienced dramatic improvement after receiving chiropractic care following a motorcycle accident. He later went on to become a ‘Licensed Chiropractor’ (Legitimerad Kiropraktor), receiving his legitimation in 2008, after having completed his studies at the Scandinavian College of Chiropractic in Stockholm, Sweden.

The title ‘Legitimerad Kiropraktor’ is particular to Scandinavia. In Sweden, the chiropractic profession is regulated by The National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen), and the title Kiropraktor is protected by law. Chiropractors are licensed and fully integrated into the Swedish health care system.

Licensure is granted to candidates only after having successfully completed 5 years of full-time studies, culminating in a 12 week full-time internship in direct contact with medical specialists in the Swedish hospitals.

Chiropractors educated in the U.S., by contrast, receive the title ‘Doctor of Chiropractic’ or D.C. and in other parts of the world they often receive masters degrees in chiropractic (M.Sc.).

It is important to understand that chiropractors treat neither symptoms nor disease. The chiropractor’s primary focus is in the localization and correction of vertebral subluxations. In other words, they seek to find and correct the underlying causes of dis-ease and illness, rather than merely attempting to suppress symptoms.

Through the adjustment, subluxations are reduced or eliminated, and the body is liberated from interference negatively affecting the function of the nervous system. When the nervous system is free of interference, the body is able to function optimally.

Many chiropractors will also focus upon education, helping people to better understand the various causes of vertebral subluxations, thus empowering them to make changes .

Though chiropractors do not treat specific symptoms or diseases, there are a number of conditions which have been known to respond well to chiropractic care. Such as:

· Low back pain
· Neck pain
· Leg pain
· Sciatica
· Whiplash
· Headaches
· Scoliosis
· Dizzyness
· Degenerative disc disease
· Fibromyalgia
· Herniated and bulging discs
· Piriformis syndrome
· Short leg syndrome
· Sports injuries
· Upper back pain
· Peripheral neuropathies
· Sinus Problems
· Arthritis
· Arthrosis

The chiropractic adjustment is a gentle, specific movement most often performed using the hands, and sometimes with specially designed instruments. The adjustments help the body by restoring proper movement, position and function to the joints. This allows your nervous system to function free from interference.
